Call types
Two types of call can be made in Reddy: direct calls and conference calls. Each type of call is linked to a chat, i.e. you can only start a call with a given person from your chat with them. Only one call can be made in a chat at a time.
Note
Before using calls for the first time, you need to allow Reddy access to your device's microphone and camera. This can be done in the modal window when using calls for the first time.
Direct calls:
- Can be made in private chats.
- Can include between 2 and 50 participants (including the person who initiated the call).
- Will automatically end when only one participant remains on the call.
- Incoming calls are accompanied by a call window, a ringtone and a push notification.
Conference calls:
- Can be created only in group chats.
- Can include up to 50 members.
- Can be active without participants.
- Can be started without notifying chat members.
- Can be forcibly ended by the person who started the call, or by the group chat owner or admin.
- Automatically ends when a chat is deleted, if calls in that chat are disabled, or if no participants have been present for the past 10 days.
Any user who is allowed to make calls can start both direct and conference calls.
